China invests in wood biomass consumption as a move to replace coal

China plans to expand the upgrade of biomass energy in the next 5 years as to reduce coal consumption and improve the air quality.  The National Energy Administration announced on the 5th of December that the country aims to achieve the target of using biomass energy equivalent of 58 million of tons of coal yearly by 2020, as reported by China Daily.  As the administration's 2016-2020 biomass energy development plan shows, the biomass energy use will be more commercialized and industrialized by 2020.  At the moment, China produces biomass energy that is similar to ...
