Schweighofer, Egger and Kronospan have most of the control over the Romanian timber market
Schweighofer, Kronospan and Egger are three Austrian companies with wood processing operations in Romania. Their cumulated business exceeded EUR 1 billion in 2013, a double amount as compared to 2009, according to the Romanian financial daily Ziarul Financiarul. The overall timber production in Romania was 5 million cubic meters in 2013, an impressive increase over the 2000 output (1.4 million cbm).
