EGGER Group increased revenue in its 2025\/2026 financial year despite weak construction activity, subdued consumer demand and continued pressure on industrial customers in German-speaking markets.<\/p>\n

The Austrian wood-based panels producer reported group revenue of \u20ac4.265 billion, up 3.4% from the previous year. EBITDA was broadly unchanged at \u20ac541.8 million, compared with approximately \u20ac541.3 million a year earlier, while the EBITDA margin narrowed from 13.1% to 12.7%.<\/p>\n

The figures show that sales growth did not translate into a corresponding improvement in operating earnings. EGGER attributed the development to uneven demand across its markets, margin pressure and continued weakness in construction-related product categories.<\/p>\n

The group maintained an equity ratio of 41.6%, while production of wood-based materials and timber increased slightly to 10.9 million m\u00b3, from 10.8 million m\u00b3 in the previous financial year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

The Decorative Products division, which supplies materials for furniture manufacturing and interior applications, generated unconsolidated revenue of \u20ac3.795 billion, an increase of 4%. Building Products, which includes materials for timber construction and flooring, recorded unconsolidated revenue of \u20ac714 million, up 1.2%.<\/p>\n

The smaller increase in Building Products was linked to continued weakness in the construction sector. EGGER said demand conditions remained particularly difficult in Germany, Austria and Switzerland, where industrial customers faced pressure on both volumes and margins.<\/p>\n

The group nevertheless increased investment to \u20ac450.1 million, from \u20ac435 million in the previous year. Spending was directed towards production infrastructure, automation, energy systems, recycling capacity and plant modernisation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

The largest current project is the expansion of EGGER\u2019s Markt Bibart plant in Germany, where the company is investing more than \u20ac200 million over three years. Two short-cycle presses entered operation during the financial year, allowing the site to produce laminated decorative boards in addition to raw particleboard.<\/p>\n

EGGER also continued to expand recycled wood processing at Markt Bibart, while a new high-bay warehouse is scheduled to begin operating by the end of summer.<\/p>\n

The group said investment decisions were increasingly influenced by cost volatility, particularly for wood and chemical raw materials. Management pointed to the rise in chemical input costs following the Iran conflict as an example of how quickly production conditions can change.<\/p>\n

At the company\u2019s headquarters in St. Johann in Tirol, a new power plant generated electricity for the first time in May 2026. The facility will supply renewable energy to the production site and feed heat into the regional district heating network.<\/p>\n

Renewable sources currently account for 71% of EGGER\u2019s energy consumption. Across its wood-based panel operations, recycled wood and sawmill by-products represent 66% of the wood input. In particleboard production alone, the proportion reaches 76%.<\/p>\n

The company is also working to improve delivery reliability, which it has identified as a strategic priority through 2028. EGGER said customers were placing greater emphasis on delivery dates, transparency and flexibility as supply chains and order patterns became more difficult to manage.<\/p>\n

The launch of the Decorative Collection 26+ was another focus during the year. The new collection was developed around a more harmonised international range and a stronger emphasis on product availability and customer service.<\/p>\n

For 2026\/2027, EGGER expects market conditions to remain difficult. The group sees no evidence yet of a broad economic recovery and expects uncertainty to persist across construction, furniture and interior markets.<\/p>\n

Management said the company would concentrate on areas under its direct control, including productivity, customer service, product development and execution of current investment projects. With EBITDA flat and margins slightly lower, the next financial year will depend on whether higher sales can be converted into stronger earnings while major capital projects continue.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
