Sawlog prices were generally stable, with the strongest upward movement recorded for spruce thick sawlogs, while pulpwood and fuelwood prices rose sharply on stronger demand from the pulp, paper and bioenergy sectors.

The main support for the market came from lower-grade assortments. Pine pulpwood and softwood pulpwood recorded the fastest increases, while softwood firewood also moved higher despite the usual seasonal slowdown in spring. In contrast, birch veneer and packaging assortments weakened sharply, reflecting lower activity in veneer, plywood and packaging-related markets.

In the sawlog segment, the market was more selective. High-quality spruce sawlogs strengthened, supported by demand from sawmills, construction timber producers and export markets. Pine thick sawlogs remained broadly stable, while pine and spruce small logs declined, indicating weaker demand for smaller-diameter material used in pallets, packaging and lower-value industrial applications.

Latvia roundwood price development, EUR/m³

<table style="border-collapse: collapse; The rise reflected stronger purchasing activity from sawmills before the summer period, as well as continued demand for construction timber and structural wood products.

By contrast, smaller-diameter logs were weaker. Pine small logs fell by nearly 5%, while spruce small logs declined by 1.7%. Demand in these categories was affected by slower activity in pallet, packaging and lower-value industrial markets.

Pulpwood was the strongest segment overall. Softwood pulpwood increased from 42.00 EUR/m³ to 61.50 EUR/m³, while pine pulpwood rose from 42.00 EUR/m³ to 61.00 EUR/m³.
