Pulpwood remained the strongest-performing segment, continuing the upward trend recorded since the start of the year.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Price movements for the main softwood sawlog assortments were limited in June. Pine and spruce sawlogs changed by less than <strong>0.3%<\/strong> compared with May, indicating a stable market after the stronger movements recorded earlier in the year.<\/p>\n<p>Pine sawlogs averaged <strong>\u20ac104.82\/m\u00b3<\/strong> in June, up <strong>9.7%<\/strong> from the same month last year. Spruce sawlogs reached <strong>\u20ac109.25\/m\u00b3<\/strong>, an increase of <strong>10.8%<\/strong> year-on-year. Small-diameter spruce logs remained slightly above last year's level, while small-diameter pine logs continued to lag the broader softwood market.<\/p>\n<p>Compared with March, pine sawlogs were down <strong>0.7%<\/strong>, while spruce sawlogs edged <strong>0.2%<\/strong> higher. Small-diameter spruce logs gained <strong>0.5%<\/strong>, while small-diameter pine logs fell <strong>1.3%<\/strong>. Birch veneer logs remained the highest-priced assortment in Estonia at <strong>\u20ac150.95\/m\u00b3<\/strong> and were unchanged from May. Birch sawlogs declined by <strong>3.2%<\/strong> month-on-month to <strong>\u20ac95.34\/m\u00b3<\/strong>, although they remained broadly unchanged compared with June 2025.<\/p>\n<p>The sharpest pressure was recorded in aspen and alder. Aspen logs fell <strong>5.8%<\/strong> in June and were down <strong>25.1%<\/strong> year-on-year. Black alder logs declined <strong>6.1%<\/strong> month-on-month and <strong>19.3%<\/strong> year-on-year. Grey alder was the only hardwood log assortment to increase during the month, rising <strong>0.4%<\/strong>, but it remained <strong>12.0%<\/strong> below last year's level.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.globalwoodmarketsinfo.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/estonia.png\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Pulpwood prices continue to rise<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Pulpwood was the strongest-performing part of the Estonian timber market in June. Pine and spruce pulpwood both increased by <strong>6.4%<\/strong> month-on-month, while birch pulpwood rose by <strong>5.1%<\/strong>. Aspen pulpwood recorded a smaller increase of <strong>0.6%<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The latest increases extended the upward trend seen since the beginning of the year. Compared with March, spruce pulpwood prices rose <strong>16.4%<\/strong>, pine pulpwood gained <strong>15.8%<\/strong>, birch pulpwood increased <strong>12.8%<\/strong> and aspen pulpwood advanced <strong>7.1%<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>With the June increases, softwood pulpwood overtook birch pulpwood as the highest-priced pulpwood category. Pine and spruce pulpwood both stood at <strong>\u20ac59.29\/m\u00b3<\/strong>, slightly above birch pulpwood at <strong>\u20ac58.86\/m\u00b3<\/strong>. In June, the price increased by <strong>0.6%<\/strong> to <strong>\u20ac42.13\/m\u00b3<\/strong> excluding VAT. Including VAT, the price for consumers reached <strong>\u20ac52.24\/m\u00b3<\/strong>.
