The court appointed a provisional insolvency administrator to assess whether the company can continue operating while evaluating its financial position. No details regarding liabilities or the reasons behind the filing have been released.<\/p>\n Further along the value chain, Hellweg<\/strong> has become the latest major German DIY retailer to seek court protection.<\/p>\n The company, which operates 68 stores<\/strong> nationwide and employs around 2,900 people<\/strong>, has filed for self-administered insolvency while maintaining normal business operations. Stores, deliveries and installation services continue without interruption as management pursues a restructuring under court supervision. The retailer has not disclosed the reasons behind the filing, although Germany's DIY market has weakened alongside lower residential construction activity and softer consumer demand.<\/p>\n Rather than isolated events, the latest insolvencies reflect the conditions facing much of Germany's wood products industry.
