North America's oriented strand board (OSB) industry remained highly concentrated in 2025, with just nine companies accounting for the continent's entire production capacity.Together, they operated mills with a combined annual capacity of 26.5 billion square feet (3\/8-inch basis), while U.S. producers accounted for nearly two-thirds of regional output.<\/p>\n

West Fraser remained the largest OSB producer in both North America and the United States. The company operated mills with a combined North American capacity of 7.77 billion square feet, including 4.52 billion square feet in the United States.<\/p>\n

Louisiana-Pacific Corp ranked second, with 4.10 billion square feet of North American capacity and 2.65 billion square feet in the U.S. Georgia-Pacific followed with 3.26 billion square feet across North America, while Huber Engineered Wood ranked fifth regionally with 2.56 billion square feet but was the third-largest producer in the United States thanks to its exclusively domestic manufacturing footprint.<\/p>\n

Weyerhaeuser ranked fourth in North America with 3.15 billion square feet of capacity but seventh in the U.S. ranking, reflecting the company's significant Canadian operations. RoyOMartin occupied sixth place in North America and fifth in the U.S., with 2.25 billion square feet of capacity.<\/p>\n

Tolko remained the seventh-largest producer in North America with 2.21 billion square feet, while Qu\u00e9bec-based Groupe R\u00e9mabec ranked eighth with 700 million square feet. Langdale Forest Products completed the ranking with 500 million square feet of capacity, operating solely in the United States.<\/p>\n

Of the nine companies in the North American OSB sector, seven operate manufacturing facilities in the United States. Their combined capacity reached 17.1 billion square feet in 2025, representing about 64% of North American production capacity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n
