After several years of strong price increases, the Swedish timber market is starting to move from extreme levels towards a more stable situation. But for forest owners, the business situation is still strong. According to Karl-Johan L\u00f6wenadler, CEO of Vida, prices for Swedish forest raw materials remain at levels that are historically very high.<\/p>\n
''We see a normalization after the clear peak in 2025, but it is important to remember where we come from. For several product ranges, prices are still around twice as high as in 2019. For forest owners facing a felling, it is still a very favorable situation,'' says Karl-Johan L\u00f6wenadler.<\/p>\n
Strong price situation \u2013 more sustainable over time<\/strong><\/p>\n The price increases of recent years have been favorable for forest owners, but at the same time have put pressure on the sawmill industry. According to Karl-Johan L\u00f6wenadler, stabilization is therefore positive for the entire value chain.<\/p>\n ''It's about balance. Forest owners should be paid well for their raw material, while the industry must be able to process the wood with long-term profitability. A more stable and predictable price situation is fundamentally good for both forest owners and industry,'' he says.<\/p>\n Continued demand for Swedish quality timber<\/strong><\/p>\n Vida operates in a global market and continues to see good long-term demand for Swedish quality timber, even though the market situation has become more cautious after the strong years.<\/p>\n ''We have the whole world as a market and know that Swedish timber has a strong position. Vida has efficient sawmills, long experience and close relationships with our suppliers \u2013 the Swedish forest owners.
