Among its key provisions are the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz to commercial shipping, the lifting of restrictions affecting Iranian ports and the start of a new round of negotiations on sanctions and nuclear-related issues.<\/p>\n

For commodity markets, the significance of Hormuz is difficult to overstate. The waterway handles a substantial share of global oil and gas shipments, and any reduction in geopolitical risk is generally seen as positive for international trade and economic activity.<\/p>\n

Several market participants said the agreement has improved confidence across commodity markets and contributed to expectations that lower energy costs and smoother trade flows could support manufacturing and construction activity later this year.<\/p>\n
