Finnish wood processing company Keitele Group has commissioned a new lumber sorting and packaging facility in Keitele as part of an approximately \u20ac40 million investment program that will increase the sawmill's annual production capacity to around 600,000 m\u00b3 of lumber.<\/p>\n
The company officially opened the facility on June 17, welcoming customers, business partners and stakeholders from Finland and international markets.<\/p>\n
The new facility will handle the final stages of lumber production, including grading, sorting and packaging. According to the company, the investment is designed to improve delivery reliability, increase customer-specific customization and remove bottlenecks throughout the production process.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe investment was made thoughtfully and at the right time \u2013 in the midst of a difficult economic climate,\u201d said Matti Kyl\u00e4vainio, CEO of Keitele Wood Oy. \u201cWe focused on removing bottlenecks and improving the productivity of the entire process so that we are ready when the market turns around.\u201d<\/p>\n
One of Finland's largest sawmills<\/strong><\/p>\n The new sorting and packaging facility forms part of a broader modernization program aimed at optimizing production across the entire operation.<\/p>\n Once the investment program is fully implemented, the Keitele sawmill will become one of the largest in Finland in terms of production capacity, reaching approximately 600,000 m\u00b3 of lumber annually.
