The investment is intended to increase capacity for timber elements and modular construction systems serving the German market.<\/p>\n<p><strong>New facility designed for modular timber construction<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The site is being developed on a 38,000 m\u00b2 plot with direct access to Germany's motorway network.<\/p>\n<p>During the first construction phase, more than 4,000 m\u00b2 of production space will be created. The facility is designed to produce up to 400 timber room modules annually, with additional expansion phases planned to increase capacity in the future.<\/p>\n<p>The plant will include approximately 1,300 m\u00b2 of indoor production space for manufacturing wall, floor and ceiling elements, as well as a dedicated production line for assembling and fitting out timber modules.<\/p>\n<p>An additional 2,500 m\u00b2 of outdoor operational space and a 250 m\u00b2 infrastructure area with offices, changing rooms and staff facilities will also be built.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Growing demand for timber modules<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Blumer Lehmann has been active in Germany since 2021 through its subsidiary Blumer-Lehmann GmbH, which provides timber construction services ranging from project development and planning to manufacturing, assembly and turnkey project delivery.<\/p>\n<p>The company says timber modular construction is increasingly being used for schools, residential buildings, offices and commercial projects due to shorter construction times and greater cost predictability compared with conventional building methods.<\/p>\n<p>The modular systems are prefabricated in the factory and assembled on site, reducing construction times and limiting disruption at building locations.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Workforce expansion planned<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Blumer Lehmann intends to expand its German workforce as production begins at the new facility.<\/p>\n<p>The company expects to employ around 70 people in Germany, with approximately 40 employees based at the Steinau an der Stra\u00dfe plant.
