After an unusually difficult 2024, Nordic Wood Industries has returned to firmer ground.<\/p>\n
The Danish wood-based construction group closed 2025 with revenue of DKK 1 billion<\/strong> (approximately \u20ac134 million<\/strong>), EBITDA of DKK 71 million<\/strong> (approximately \u20ac9.5 million<\/strong>) and profit before tax of DKK 27 million<\/strong> (approximately \u20ac3.6 million<\/strong>). EBITDA improved by DKK 103 million<\/strong> (approximately \u20ac13.8 million<\/strong>) compared with the previous year.<\/p>\n For a group that spent much of the past year repairing, restructuring and absorbing the consequences of earlier setbacks, the result marks more than a financial recovery. It marks the end of a clean-up year.<\/p>\n Nordic Wood Industries said the improvement came despite continued rebuilding work at several central parts of the group, particularly Scandi Byg<\/strong>, its modular construction business; Roust Element<\/strong>, which produces timber-based building elements for prefabricated construction; and Nviro<\/strong>, which is active in private housing and building solutions.<\/p>\n The company is not yet where it wants to be, but it has moved back toward the level it has historically occupied.<\/p>\n Group CEO Holger C. Hansen described the result as satisfactory, given the scale of the work carried out during the year.<\/p>\n \u201cWe are back on the good track and the path we have historically been on as part of the business,\u201d Hansen said. \u201cThis does not mean that we are quite where we want to be yet, but we are very positive about the development and have taken big steps in the right direction after a difficult 2024. We have emerged from 2025 significantly stronger.\u201d<\/p>\n The year was especially important for Scandi Byg<\/strong>, the group\u2019s modular building company, which had to be rebuilt after bankruptcy. The process brought extra costs, including relocation, production adjustments and the creation of a leaner organization. The company also had to regain stability while choosing projects more carefully, focusing on those best suited for modular construction.<\/p>\n At Roust Element<\/strong>, the group\u2019s timber element producer, 2025 was a year of clearing old problems. Challenged projects were addressed, management was strengthened and the business began a broader process of improving internal systems, project management and operational control.<\/p>\n The acquisition of HusCompagniet Production<\/strong>, now part of Roust Element and adding further housebuilding component production capacity, has also lifted the company into a stronger position, adding production strength and more automation.<\/p>\n Nviro<\/strong>, the group\u2019s business exposed to the private housing market, faced weak demand and has adjusted its strategy accordingly.<\/p>\n If some parts of the group were still recovering, others carried the year with more confidence.<\/p>\n Palsgaard Sp\u00e6r<\/strong>, Nordic Wood Industries\u2019 roof-truss and structural timber component business, performed strongly after a difficult 2024, when the implementation of a new ERP system disrupted operations. In 2025, the system was in place, and the company began to benefit from the investments made the year before. The integration of Ringsted Sp\u00e6r<\/strong> and Jysk Sp\u00e6rfabrik<\/strong>, both roof-truss businesses, also produced clear synergies.<\/p>\n Lilleheden<\/strong>, the group\u2019s glulam and engineered timber specialist, also delivered a solid performance, helped by a stronger position in the project market and high activity on larger projects. Investments in employees, systems and production contributed positively to the result.<\/p>\n Across the group, the mood for 2026 is cautiously optimistic. Nordic Wood Industries says customers are expecting improvement, especially among prefabricated house manufacturers, contractors and project-market clients. Interest in timber construction remains strong.<\/p>\n But the next year will not be without friction. Lilleheden is set to implement a new ERP system, which may temporarily disturb operations. Roust Element still has work to do on internal processes.
