Estonian private forest prices moved in different directions in early 2026, with spruce sawlogs continuing to rise while pulpwood prices remained well below last year\u2019s average.<\/p>\n

The clearest strength is still in large-diameter softwood logs. The average spruce log price reached \u20ac109.74\/m\u00b3 in January-April 2026, up 7.2% from the 2025 average. Pine logs also rose, averaging \u20ac106.57\/m\u00b3, 5.7% above last year\u2019s level.<\/p>\n

The picture is weaker in smaller softwood assortments. Pine small logs averaged \u20ac90.90\/m\u00b3 in the first four months of 2026, down 2.0% from 2025, while spruce small logs were almost unchanged at \u20ac94.94\/m\u00b3. Lath assortments fell sharply, with pine lath and spruce lath both down by about 20% from 2025 averages.<\/p>\n

Birch assortments also softened. Birch veneer logs averaged \u20ac152.85\/m\u00b3 in January-April 2026, down 2.2% from 2025, while birch logs fell 1.7% to \u20ac102.26\/m\u00b3. The April price for birch logs was lower still, at \u20ac98.80\/m\u00b3.<\/p>\n

Pulpwood remains the weakest part of the market. Pine pulpwood averaged \u20ac51.60\/m\u00b3 in early 2026, down 8.4% from the 2025 average. Spruce pulpwood fell by 8.6%, and birch pulpwood by 7.7%. Aspen pulpwood was the exception, edging up 1.1% from 2025 and reaching \u20ac44.77\/m\u00b3 in April.<\/p>\n

Firewood prices were more stable. The average price in January-April 2026 was \u20ac40.40\/m\u00b3, 3.0% above the 2025 average, with April reaching \u20ac41.56\/m\u00b3.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n
