Swedish sawmill company JGA has been granted a new production permit allowing annual output of up to 400,000 cubic metres (m\u00b3) of lumber, marking a step-change in its operational capacity.<\/p>\n
The decision, issued by the regional authority, enables the company to better align production with market demand and removes previous constraints that had periodically limited output despite solid demand for sawn and planed wood products.<\/p>\n
Chief executive Claes Andersson described the permit as a key milestone for the company\u2019s long-term development. \u201cThis is an important and welcome decision for us. The permit gives us greater flexibility and better opportunities to meet future demand. It also allows us to fully utilize the investments we have made in recent years at our Linneryd facility, strengthening our long-term competitiveness,\u201d Andersson said.<\/p>\n
In recent years, JGA has carried out several major investments at its Linneryd site, including the installation of a new small-diameter log intake line, a new measurement frame, and a TC kiln, along with improvements to internal logistics. These upgrades have increased efficiency and prepared the facility for higher production volumes, although output had previously been capped by permit restrictions.<\/p>\n
With the new permit in place, the company is now able to better match production levels with demand, strengthening its position in the Swedish wood processing sector.<\/p>\n
