Log prices in Estonia showed mixed developments in February 2026, with softwood logs largely stable while several other assortments declined, according to the latest data from the Estonian Private Forest Union.<\/p>\n
Softwood log prices moved only slightly. Pine logs edged down by 0.1% month on month to \u20ac108.09\/m3<\/strong>, while spruce logs declined by 0.4% to \u20ac109.95\/m3<\/strong>. Despite the marginal monthly drop, both remained clearly above year-earlier levels. Compared with February 2025, spruce log prices increased by 10.6%<\/strong>, while pine logs were up 7.1%<\/strong>.<\/p>\n Smaller-diameter softwood logs recorded more visible declines. Pine small-diameter logs fell by 2.1% from January to \u20ac92.89\/m3<\/strong>, while spruce small-diameter logs dropped by 2.7% to \u20ac94.92\/m3<\/strong>. In annual terms, spruce small-diameter logs remained slightly higher than a year earlier, whereas pine small-diameter logs were still below February 2025 levels.<\/p>\n Hardwood logs continued to weaken across the board in February. No hardwood assortment recorded a monthly increase. Birch veneer logs declined by 0.9% to \u20ac153.50\/m3<\/strong>, birch logs dropped by 3.7% to \u20ac103.15\/m3<\/strong>, and aspen logs fell to \u20ac70.41\/m3<\/strong>. The sharpest monthly decrease was recorded for black alder logs, down 8.5% to \u20ac70.82\/m3<\/strong>, while grey alder logs and birch small-diameter logs remained unchanged.
