European log markets remain firm in early 2026, even as sawmills continue to deal with weak lumber demand and squeezed margins. The pattern is clear: raw material costs are still high, while finished product markets have not recovered enough to absorb them.<\/p>\n

In Finland, prices remain elevated with no real correction. Spruce logs averaged \u20ac84.82\/m\u00b3, pine \u20ac82.71\/m\u00b3 and birch \u20ac67.33\/m\u00b3. Recent signals suggest prices have held steady into early 2026, with no meaningful easing.<\/p>\n

Austria is trading at a higher level. Spruce\/fir logs are at \u20ac118\u2013136\/m\u00b3, mostly \u20ac125\u2013135, while pine is \u20ac80\u2013100\/m\u00b3 and larch \u20ac100\u2013185\/m\u00b3. Demand has weakened, but supply is still tight enough to keep prices in place.<\/p>\n

Estonia remains one of the firmest markets. Pine logs reached \u20ac108.21\/m\u00b3, while spruce is around \u20ac109\u2013110\/m\u00b3. Prices have continued to edge higher into 2026.<\/p>\n

Norway has seen some easing, but only from extreme levels. Spruce logs are still around NOK 750\u2013800\/m\u00b3 (roughly \u20ac65\u201369\/m\u00b3), well above historical norms.<\/p>\n

Sweden has moved into a cooling phase. Fourth-quarter data shows pine at 961 SEK\/m\u00b3 (~\u20ac85.8) and spruce at 1,207 SEK\/m\u00b3 (~\u20ac107.8). The drop has been sharper for pine, while spruce remains relatively firm.<\/p>\n

Germany is now one of the tightest markets in Europe. Spruce sawlogs (B 2b+) are trading around \u20ac129\u2013132\/m\u00b3, with prices still rising as supply remains constrained and mills compete for volume.<\/p>\n

Romania shows a different picture \u2014 less stable, but still expensive. Softwood log prices are generally in the \u20ac115\u2013120\/m\u00b3 range, while hardwood logs (such as oak) can reach significantly higher levels depending on quality.<\/p>\n

In Croatia, prices have moved higher again, with an increase of around 8% at the start of 2026.<\/p>\n
