The Pfeifer Group will rename its Finnish subsidiary P\u00f6lkky as Pfeifer Nordics from June 1, 2026, bringing its operations under a single brand as the company deepens integration across its European business.<\/p>\n
Production activities will be carried out under Pfeifer Nordics Oy, while sales will be handled through a newly established Helsinki branch of Pfeifer Timber GmbH. The move follows Pfeifer\u2019s acquisition of P\u00f6lkky in 2023 and marks the next step in aligning the group\u2019s structure and market presence.<\/p>\n
The company said the change reflects the growing role of Finland within its operations. The country\u2019s sawmills form a key part of Pfeifer\u2019s supply base, supported by access to northern pine resources and established processing capacity.<\/p>\n
Chief executive Michael Pfeifer described Finland as central to the group\u2019s development, citing raw material quality, technical expertise and plant capabilities.<\/p>\n
Since the acquisition, Pfeifer has upgraded its Finnish sites, including investments in sawing and drying capacity at its Kajaani mill. The site is among the largest in northern Finland and has been integrated into the group\u2019s wider production network.<\/p>\n
The rebranding comes as European lumber producers seek to streamline operations and improve coordination across markets. Finland remains a significant supplier of softwood lumber, with producers increasingly focused on efficiency and scale as demand fluctuates across key export destinations.<\/p>\n
Pfeifer operates 13 sites across Austria, Germany, the Czech Republic and Finland, employing around 2,600 people.
