H\u00f6rmann plans to build a sawmill, a glulam plant and a pellet facility in Buchloe, southern Germany. The project has received approval from the local authorities.<\/p>\n

The site covers around 12 ha and is located near the company\u2019s existing headquarters. The aim is to process logs through to finished timber construction elements on one site.<\/p>\n

The sawmill will include drying capacity as well as storage and logistics areas. According to local sources, the new buildings will be large-scale and spread across several plots in the industrial zone west of Werner-von-Siemens-Stra\u00dfe.<\/p>\n

In addition to sawn timber production, H\u00f6rmann plans to produce glulam for structural applications. A pellet plant is also included, allowing residues from sawmilling to be used internally.<\/p>\n

The investment is part of a larger expansion of the company\u2019s timber construction activities. By adding sawmilling and further processing, H\u00f6rmann is moving to secure its own supply of structural wood products.<\/p>\n

Rudolf H\u00f6rmann GmbH & Co. KG is active in timber construction and industrial building systems, including halls and commercial buildings. The company employs several hundred people and generates annual revenues of around \u20ac180 million. Its core business has so far been in engineered timber construction rather than primary wood processing.<\/p>\n

The project is linked to the company\u2019s development of prefabricated timber elements and more industrialised construction methods.<\/p>\n
