Homann Holzwerkstoffe reported slightly higher revenues in the second half of 2025, supported by increased volumes, while earnings declined due to start-up costs at its new plant in Lithuania.<\/p>\n
The German-based producer of thin, refined wood fibreboards generated revenue of EUR 188.1 million in the second half, up around 2.5% from EUR 183.5 million a year earlier. With prices largely unchanged, growth was driven primarily by higher sales volumes.<\/p>\n
However, profitability came under pressure. Adjusted for currency effects, EBITDA fell to EUR 16.1 million from EUR 27.9 million in the prior-year period, while the EBITDA margin declined to 8.2% from 15.5%. The main factor behind the drop was the start-up phase of the new plant in Pagiriai, Lithuania.<\/p>\n
Excluding these ramp-up losses, adjusted EBITDA from existing operations reached EUR 27.2 million, compared with EUR 30.8 million a year earlier. The remaining decline reflected a higher material cost ratio and increased operating expenses.<\/p>\n
The group reported a net loss of EUR 10.1 million for the second half, compared with a profit of EUR 6.3 million a year earlier. Adjusted for the Lithuanian plant, net income would have remained positive at EUR 6.7 million, although still below the EUR 13.3 million recorded in the prior-year period.<\/p>\n
The company said its existing plants showed a stable performance and slightly improved their contribution compared with the first half of the year.<\/p>\n
Equity stood at EUR 186.3 million as of 31 December 2025, down from EUR 197.1 million a year earlier, with the equity ratio at 30%. The decrease was mainly linked to the negative half-year result and currency translation effects.<\/p>\n
Homann Holzwerkstoffe also exited its joint venture \u201cGlobal MDF Industries\u201d in Egypt in November 2025, selling its stake back to its partner and ending an ongoing arbitration process.<\/p>\n
For the full year 2025, the company confirmed previously indicated figures, with revenue rising to EUR 383.1 million from EUR 369.9 million in 2024. Adjusted EBITDA declined to EUR 38.2 million from EUR 56.3 million.<\/p>\n
