IKEA Industry has installed a thin-board production line at its furniture plant in Zb\u0105szynek, western Poland, expanding internal capacity for the manufacture of lightweight wood-based panels used in furniture components.<\/p>\n
The new facility is designed to produce thin particleboard elements used in furniture structures. Such panels allow manufacturers to reduce material use and product weight while maintaining structural strength\u2014an increasingly common approach in mass-produced furniture.<\/p>\n
Zb\u0105szynek is one of the larger production sites within IKEA Industry\u2019s European manufacturing network. The factory produces a range of furniture items and components supplied to IKEA\u2019s retail operations.<\/p>\n
By producing thin boards directly at the site, the company aims to simplify its supply chain and improve coordination between panel production and furniture assembly.<\/p>\n
Thin-board technology has gained ground in recent years as furniture producers seek to reduce raw material consumption and optimise transport costs. Lighter components also allow more efficient logistics across large distribution networks.<\/p>\n
