The expansion centers on Vida\u2019s distribution warehouse in Orrakullen, Sweden outside the town of Alvesta, where the company has begun stocking exterior panels alongside its existing range of structural lumber and other building materials. The move allows builders and construction merchants to source a broader selection of wood products from a single supplier. Vida is owned by the Canadian giant Canfor.<\/p>\n
The development follows Vida\u2019s acquisition of the AB Karl Hedin sawmill business in the autumn of 2025, a transaction that significantly expanded the company\u2019s production base and product portfolio. The integration of the Karbenning sawmill, previously operated by Karl Hedin, now enables Vida to supply exterior panels produced from spruce logs sourced in the Bergslagen region of central Sweden.<\/p>\n
Panels from Karbenning will be sold both untreated and pre-painted, according to the company.<\/p>\n
With the addition of these products to the Orrakullen facility, Vida says it can now distribute a full range of sawn timber products \u2014 from structural lumber used in framing to finished exterior panels \u2014 to customers throughout Sweden.<\/p>\n
The company also emphasized logistics improvements designed to simplify ordering for construction merchants. Both Orrakullen and Karbenning warehouses now hold a broad product assortment, allowing deliveries to combine multiple wood products in a single shipment.<\/p>\n
Vida said its \u201cpick-and-pack\u201d distribution system enables customers to assemble mixed loads, a feature aimed particularly at smaller builders or merchants who may need different products in limited quantities.<\/p>\n
The company expects the broader range and flexible delivery system to strengthen its position in Sweden\u2019s construction supply chain, where demand for integrated product offerings has been growing.<\/p>\n
