Nova Scotia recorded the largest decline in output, with production falling to 954,000 cubic metres, down 2.9% from 2024.<\/p>\n<p>In Quebec, one of Canada\u2019s main lumber-producing provinces, production reached 12.83 million cubic metres, a decline of 1.72% from a year earlier.<\/p>\n<p>Some provinces recorded short-term increases at the end of the year. Saskatchewan posted a 118% month-on-month rise in output to 658,000 cubic metres, while Newfoundland and Labrador saw production increase 98% to 164,000 cubic metres.<\/p>\n<p>Shipment volumes also varied across provinces. Quebec recorded the largest annual decline in shipments, which fell to 12.141 million cubic metres in 2025, down 8.4% from the previous year.<\/p>\n<p>In the fourth quarter, Canadian lumber production declined sharply from a year earlier. Average output between October and December fell 9.09%, reversing the 0.34% increase recorded in the third quarter.
