UPM-Kymmene Corporation said on it has initiated a strategic review of its plywood business to assess options for maximizing long-term value.<\/p>\n
The review, approved by UPM\u2019s board of directors, will consider a range of possibilities, including a divestment, partial demerger or initial public offering (IPO). The company said the aim is to determine the best path forward for UPM Plywood while enhancing shareholder value.<\/p>\n

UPM Plywood, which operates under the WISA\u00ae brand, produces plywood and veneer products for construction, transport and other industries. The business has a strong market position in Europe, supported by efficient production and long-standing customer relationships, according to UPM.<\/p>\n
During the review process, the company said it remains committed to the plywood business and its customers. The review is expected to be completed by the end of 2026.<\/p>\n

UPM's plywood business had sales of EUR 430 million last year and employed approximately 1,600 people.
