Tarkett Polska is set to close its Orzech\u00f3w plant by the end of December 2025, consolidating its wood production operations in Serbia. This decision follows a comprehensive evaluation of the company's European wood division, which has faced declining demand since the COVID-19 pandemic, leading to underutilization of its facilities.<\/p>\n
Approximately 211 employees will be affected by the closure. Tarkett has initiated an outplacement program and is collaborating with other companies to facilitate job transitions for its staff.<\/p>\n
The Orzech\u00f3w plant specializes in producing semi-finished and finished wood flooring. The machinery and equipment from this facility will be relocated to Tarkett's plant in Ba\u010dka Palanka, Serbia, to enhance production efficiency within the group's EMEA management framework.<\/p>\n
Despite the plant closure, Tarkett assures that its product offerings will remain available in the market. The company operates another facility in Jas\u0142o, Poland, dedicated to vinyl flooring production, and oversees commercial activities across Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, and the Baltic States.<\/p>\n
In 2024, Tarkett Polska reported revenues of approximately \u20ac127 million, a 7% decrease from the previous year. The company achieved a net profit of \u20ac6.5 million, a significant turnaround from a net loss in 2023. This improvement was primarily due to the write-off of \u20ac24 million in loans from a related entity.<\/p>\n
