Canada\u2019s Pacific ports offer logistical advantages for reaching new markets in Asia, Europe, the Middle East, and Northern Africa. Executives have identified South Korea, Vietnam, India, Australia, Britain, and select European countries as potential growth markets. The federal diversification fund is expected to support both equipment investment and export promotion. Analysts note that past diversification attempts have been inconsistent, creating challenges for market credibility.<\/p>\n
Despite these hurdles, the initiative comes at a time of renewed urgency for Canada\u2019s softwood sector.
