The 73rd International Softwood Conference (ISC) will take place in Oslo from 22 to 23 October 2025, bringing together key players from the global wood industry to discuss market trends, raw material supply, competitiveness, and regulatory challenges.<\/p>\n
Organised at the Clarion Hotel Oslo, the event will feature updates on production and consumption in the world\u2019s main softwood markets, insights on the EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR) from a producer\u2019s perspective, and presentations from companies engaged in rebuilding efforts in Ukraine.<\/p>\n
Study tours and technical visits<\/strong><\/p>\n The conference opens on 22 October with four optional study tours. Participants can visit Bergene Holm\u2019s cutting plant in Haslestad, which uses digital optimisation to reduce waste along the value chain, or combine a visit to Mj\u00f8st\u00e5rnet \u2013 the world\u2019s tallest all-timber building \u2013 with tours of RVT\u2019s industrial module production, Moelven Byggmodul\u2019s module factory, or G3 Gausdal Treindustrier\u2019s state-of-the-art paint facility.<\/p>\n The day concludes with an informal sofa chat with Anna Holmberg of the Swedish Forest Industries Federation on raw material supply, followed by a welcome reception at the historic H\u00f8ymagasinet venue inside Oslo\u2019s Akershus fortress.<\/p>\n Conference programme<\/strong><\/p>\n The main conference takes place on 23 October, with speakers including Johan Freij, Paul Jannke, Stephen Sabine, Anna Holmberg, Fredrik Westling, Erik Eliasson, Barbara Reck, Olle Berg, Henrik V\u00e4lja, Mona \u00d8rbekk, Christian Nielsen, and J\u00f8rn Eirik Erlund.
