<\/span>Frutiger, one of Switzerland\u2019s largest construction and real estate service providers, has acquired a 30% stake in Blumer Lehmann, a leading timber construction and wood industry company based in Gossau, St. Gallen. The transaction secures the succession of the Lehmann family and strengthens Frutiger\u2019s roots in timber construction. A complete takeover of the shares is planned by 2029.<\/p>\n

Blumer Lehmann, which employs more than 600 people, will remain an independent company under the operational management of CEO Katharina Lehmann and the existing, long-standing team. The company operates in timber construction and the wood industry at its headquarters in Gossau and at locations in Switzerland, Germany, Austria, and Luxembourg, as well as in projects worldwide.<\/p>\n

For Blumer Lehmann, the integration into another family-run Swiss group of companies represents a stable foundation for the future. \u201cMy greatest concern has always been to create long-term and sustainable value for Blumer Lehmann \u2013 especially for our employees, but also for our customers and suppliers. Therefore, I am very pleased that we have now found the right partner. Frutiger values us as an independent company, recognizes our potential, and supports our successful development in timber construction and the timber industry. Frutiger, headquartered in Thun, employs about 2,500 people across more than 20 sites in Switzerland. The company is active in infrastructure and building construction, as well as in construction-related specialties. Through its general contracting and real estate development divisions, it realizes its own residential developments and turnkey projects for third parties. The family business, founded in 1869, is run today by Luc and Thomas Frutiger in the fourth generation as co-chairmen.<\/p>\n
