<\/span>Stora Enso reported that wood trading in Finland during the summer holiday season has remained as brisk as last year, with volumes expected to rise through August and September. However, the company does not anticipate the autumn price increases seen in recent years.<\/p>\n

Timber prices remain relatively high across all species, but market data indicates that peaks have been reached, with a slight decline now visible. Stora Enso said that global trade policy uncertainty and fluctuations in end-product markets continue to influence raw wood pricing, but demand for domestic wood is likely to stay strong, making early autumn a favourable period for trading.<\/p>\n

The company described its log and fiber needs as \u201cexcellently balanced,\u201d aided by the acquisition of three Junnikkala sawmills, which have increased in-house log usage and allowed for procurement aligned with forest structures. Thinning fellings suitable for autumn remain the most sought-after harvest type, with dry weather keeping terrain conditions optimal.<\/p>\n

Average stumpage prices over the past four weeks, according to the Finnish Forest Industries Federation, were \u20ac83.30\/m\u00b3 for pine logs, \u20ac83.31\/m\u00b3 for spruce logs, and \u20ac67.42\/m\u00b3 for birch logs from regeneration logging. Fiberwood prices ranged from \u20ac33.07\/m\u00b3 for pine to \u20ac34.57\/m\u00b3 for spruce.
