<\/span>Finnish forestry machinery manufacturer Ponsse reported a decline in net sales in the second quarter of 2025, while operating profit turned positive.<\/p>\n

For April\u2013June, net sales were \u20ac172.3 million, down from \u20ac188.0 million a year earlier, mainly due to lower deliveries of new machines. Operating profit reached \u20ac7.4 million, representing 4.3% of net sales, compared with a loss of \u20ac0.6 million in the same period in 2024.<\/p>\n

\u201cOperating profit was reasonable in the second quarter,\u201d CEO Juho Nummela said. \u201cProfit fell short of targets due to weaker-than-expected revenue. Measures to reduce costs progressed as planned.\u201d<\/p>\n

Ponsse said uncertainty over customs policy and the geopolitical situation affected market activity, keeping demand slightly calmer than usual. The company expects the trade agreement signed between the EU and the United States after the quarter to help stabilise the market.<\/p>\n

In the first half of 2025, net sales were unchanged from the previous year at \u20ac357.7 million. Operating profit for the period was \u20ac20.6 million, up from \u20ac0.6 million in 2024, and net income reached \u20ac16.1 million, compared with a loss of \u20ac11.7 million. Order books stood at \u20ac192.5 million at the end of June.<\/p>\n

International sales accounted for 75.7% of net sales, with Nordic countries and the Baltics representing 45.5%, Central and Southern Europe 23.7%, North and South America each 14.3%, and other regions 2.2%.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
