According to recent data, total exports surged by 22% in volume and a robust 53% in value compared to the same period in 2024, indicating a notable increase in average prices.

The European Union remained Latvia's largest market, with exports rising by 19% in volume to 1.16 million cubic meters and a remarkable 60% in value. The United Kingdom was another key driver of this growth, with volume increasing by 60% and value by 78%, solidifying its position as a major destination for Latvian softwood.

Demand from North America also showed explosive growth, with exports to the USA skyrocketing by 90% in volume and 70% in value. This significant increase suggests that Latvian producers are successfully capturing a larger share of the North American market.

While most markets experienced positive growth, there were notable declines in some regions. Exports to China plummeted by 58% in volume and 68% in value, and shipments to Tunisia saw a 23% drop in volume and a 7% decrease in value. Conversely, smaller markets like Morocco, Norway saw triple-digit percentage increases in both volume and value, indicating diversified demand.

Table 1: Softwood Lumber
