<\/span>Hekotek AS has signed a contract to supply log feeding equipment, conveyors for wood chips, sawdust, and sawn timber to the Japanese company Chugoku Mokuzai (Chugoku Lumber Co Ltd.).<\/p>\n

Chugoku Mokuzai is a wood processing company with several production units in Japan. The new sawmill will replace a production unit destroyed by fire in 2023 in Ibaraki Prefecture, on Japan\u2019s eastern coast.<\/p>\n

The new unit will process Douglas fir (Pseudotsuga menziesii) round logs sourced from North America. The sawn timber produced will primarily be sold on the domestic Japanese market.<\/p>\n

The equipment supplied by Hekotek is expected to handle a transport capacity equivalent to approximately 100 sea containers, with shipments starting in the coming months. Production at the new sawmill is planned to begin in early 2027, following an installation and testing period of about eight months.<\/p>\n

The equipment will provide log feeding at various speeds to a HewSaw sawline. The entire system is designed and manufactured to meet high technological standards, aiming to reduce manual labor throughout the production process.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
