Major importers such as Germany (-29%), the Netherlands (-17%), and Denmark (-10%) posted notable declines, continuing a downward trend driven by subdued construction activity.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"857\" data-end=\"1004\">In contrast, the United Kingdom imported 945,000 m\u00b3 of Swedish lumber, up 6% year-on-year, reaffirming its position as the top destination overall.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1033\" data-end=\"1358\"><a href=\"https:\/\/timberindustrynews.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/Sweden1-3.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-38658 alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/timberindustrynews.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/Sweden1-3-300x179.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"179\" srcset=\"https:\/\/timberindustrynews.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/Sweden1-3-300x179.jpg 300w, https:\/\/timberindustrynews.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/Sweden1-3-768x458.jpg 768w, https:\/\/timberindustrynews.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/Sweden1-3.jpg 968w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a>North Africa showed strong demand, with total exports to the region rising 9% to nearly 713,000 m\u00b3. Morocco and Algeria posted increases of 30% and 20%, respectively. Egypt, the largest buyer in the region, saw imports dip 8% but remained the second-largest destination globally. Libya nearly tripled its imports from Sweden.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1394\" data-end=\"1533\">Exports to North America rose 5% to 447,000 m\u00b3, supported by continued interest from the US and a fivefold increase in shipments to Canada.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1535\" data-end=\"1779\">Asian markets remained relatively stable at 524,000 m\u00b3 (-1%), though trends varied. Japan imported 270,000 m\u00b3 (-2%), while exports to China dropped by 14%. The Philippines and India increased their purchases, partly offsetting losses elsewhere.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1829\" data-end=\"1993\">Shipments to the Near and Middle East declined by 8% to 135,000 m\u00b3. Saudi Arabia saw a 12% decrease, while Israel's imports rose sharply by 84% to nearly 28,000 m\u00b3.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"146\" data-end=\"207\"><strong data-start=\"150\" data-end=\"207\">Top 20
