<\/span>Jari Suominen will leave his role as CEO of P\u00f6lky, the Northern Finnish wood processing company, after approximately a year and a half in the position. Suominen began as CEO at the start of 2024.<\/p>\n

According to Suominen, the departure is amicable and has been mutually agreed upon with the company\u2019s and group\u2019s leadership. He emphasized that there is no drama involved.<\/p>\n

P\u00f6lky operates sawmills and further processing plants in Kuusamo, Taivalkoski, and Kajaani, as well as a pressure impregnation facility in Oulu. The company is one of the largest private wood processing firms in Northern Finland.<\/p>\n

In late 2022, Austrian company Pfeifer announced the acquisition of P\u00f6lky from the Virranniemi family, with the transaction completed in January 2023.<\/p>\n

For the 16-month financial period ending in December 2023, P\u00f6lky reported a turnover of EUR 182 million and a loss of EUR 37 million, according to public records.<\/p>\n

Before joining P\u00f6lky, Suominen worked for over 25 years at Stora Enso in various roles within the forest industry.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
