The buyer is Metsavennaskond, a Tallinn-based company. The forests, located primarily in southern Estonia, contain around 1.1 million cubic meters of standing timber. The purchase price has not been disclosed.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"635\" data-end=\"875\">\u201cI feel secure in transferring a well-managed forest property in Estonia to a new owner. The forest has been managed with a long-term perspective, which has been possible thanks to our Estonian organization,\u201d said Karl Hedin in a statement.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"877\" data-end=\"1235\">This transaction comes after a series of divestments in Estonia. Hedin had previously sold his majority stake in AS Toftan, one of the country\u2019s most modern sawmills, to Estonian wood conglomerate Combiwood Group. The sawmill, located near the town of V\u00f5ru, had been part of Hedin\u2019s business interests for several years and had worked closely with Combiwood.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1237\" data-end=\"1653\">Combiwood\u2019s acquisition of Toftan was seen as a strategic move, consolidating its position in Estonia\u2019s wood processing sector. With 12 companies under its umbrella and about 900 employees, Combiwood posted annual revenues of EUR 210 million prior to the deal. Following the acquisition, the combined turnover of Combiwood and Toftan was projected at around EUR 276 million, with a workforce nearing 1,000 employees.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1655\" data-end=\"1840\">According to Hedin, the decision to exit the Estonian market was also influenced by family considerations.
