On Wednesday, Weyerhaeuser Company announced that it has reached an agreement to sell its lumber mill in Princeton, British Columbia, to the Gorman Group, the parent company of Gorman Bros. Lumber Ltd., a family-owned wood products manufacturer based in West Kelowna, BC.<\/p>\n

The transaction is valued at approximately CA$120 million<\/strong> in cash and includes the manufacturing facility, associated timber license assets in British Columbia, and working capital, with the final amount subject to customary purchase price adjustments.<\/p>\n

Gorman Bros. Lumber is currently the Princeton mill\u2019s largest customer, and the Gorman Group has operated in Canada for more than 75 years, with facilities in British Columbia and Washington state.<\/p>\n

The deal remains subject to regulatory approval and other closing conditions. The sale of the mill is expected to be finalized in the third quarter of 2025, with the transfer of forest tenures to follow in the subsequent months.<\/p>\n

Weyerhaeuser expects to recognize a gain on the transaction and estimates a CA$15 million<\/strong> tax liability. The company will continue to operate the Princeton facility until the deal closes.
