Production reached 46.3 million board feet, up 87% from Q4, while shipments increased to 38.0 million board feet.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"931\" data-end=\"1133\">The improved results came amid stronger North American lumber prices, with the average Western Spruce-Pine-Fir (WSPF) 2x4 #2&amp;Btr benchmark rising to US$492 per thousand board feet, up from US$435 in Q4.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1135\" data-end=\"1406\">\u201cHourly throughput reached full capacity by the end of March and has held steady into the second quarter,\u201d Conifex said in a statement. However, it flagged ongoing rail-related transportation issues that held back shipment volumes compared with the same period last year.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1408\" data-end=\"1558\">The company did not report any wholesale lumber shipments during the quarter, consistent with recent quarters since exiting that segment in late 2023.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1560\" data-end=\"1722\">Revenue from bioenergy fell slightly to C$7.0 million, down from C$8.2 million in Q1 2024, while by-product sales more than doubled year-on-year to C$6.3 million.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1724\" data-end=\"1901\">The company\u2019s improved profitability comes amid a broader recovery in the lumber market, though industry players remain cautious amid volatile demand and logistical constraints.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Conifex Timber Inc. reported a net profit of C$0.6 million in the first quarter of 2025, rebounding from a C$7.8 million loss in the previous quarter, as higher lumber production and firmer prices boosted earnings.
