According to officials familiar with the discussions, the deal affects roughly 91% of traded wood products, including hardwood panels, solid wood furniture, and raw logs.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"891\" data-end=\"1254\">The suspension takes immediate effect, offering timber exporters a short-term reprieve from rising costs and weakening orders that have plagued the sector since the start of 2025. Import costs for North American softwood are expected to drop by up to 20%, and Chinese furniture exporters may see margins improve by 10% or more.
