<\/span>UPM Plywood and the Finnish Industries Federation have reached an agreement on a new collective agreement on Friday, May 9, UPM reports. As a result, the ongoing strikes at UPM's Finnish mills will end and work will resume immediately.<\/p>\n

\"We are pleased that a solution has been found for the collective agreement and that we can start work at our mills. We finally reached a result that ensures the purchasing power of our employees and supports the success of UPM Plywood's mills in the future,\" says Juhani Tenhunen, Production Director at UPM Plywood, in a press release.<\/p>\n

The industrial action in UPM's plywood production, which began in February, has lasted almost the entire spring, ten weeks. As of early this week, the strike was being mediated by national mediator Anu Sajavaara and mediator Jukka Ahtela , but without success.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
