<\/span>SCA\u2019s wood division delivered strong performance in the first quarter of 2025, driven by increased delivery volumes and higher selling prices. Net sales rose by 37% to SEK 1.5 billion (EUR 136.5 million), compared to SEK 1.1 billion (EUR 100.1 million) in the same period last year. This increase was largely attributed to higher volumes and improved prices, despite the challenge of rising raw material costs.<\/p>\n

EBITDA saw a substantial 113% increase, reaching SEK 236 million (EUR 21.5 million), up from SEK 111 million (EUR 10.1 million) in Q1 2024. The growth in EBITDA was a result of the higher sales volumes and prices, although raw material costs remained a factor limiting further margin expansion. Operating profit also grew significantly, rising 275% to SEK 165 million (EUR 15.0 million), from SEK 44 million (EUR 4.0 million) in Q1 2024.<\/p>\n

SCA\u2019s EBITDA margin improved to 15.8%, up from 10.2% in the previous year. Similarly, the operating margin rose to 11%, compared to just 4% a year earlier, reflecting improved efficiency and profitability. Return on capital employed jumped to 17.9%, a notable increase from 4.9% in the same quarter last year.<\/p>\n

Wood product deliveries reached 524,000 cubic meters (EUR 47,684), up 30% from 403,000 cubic meters (EUR 36,673) in Q1 2024. The increase in deliveries was also reflected in a 6% rise in net sales compared to the fourth quarter of 2024. EBITDA remained stable, though, with a slight 1% increase compared to the previous quarter, as higher sales prices and volumes were offset by continued raw material cost pressures.<\/p>\n

Overall, SCA\u2019s wood division demonstrated solid growth, with strong performance in both sales and profitability, positioning the company well for the remainder of the year.<\/p>\n
