Scottish timber industry company James Jones & Sons, based in Larbert, UK has announced the acquisitions of Pallet & Bin Pty Ltd in Australia and United Box Ltd in the UK this week to provide an expanded product portfolio for farming and food processing end users.<\/p>\n
United Box Ltd was originally formed as a joint venture in 2003 by James Jones & Sons Ltd and Scott Group Ltd. United Box manufactures and distributes agricultural boxes and is a valued supplier to the food industry across the UK and Ireland.<\/p>\n
In parallel, James Jones & Sons\u2019 Australian subsidiary, Hyne Group, has announced the expansion of its Hyne Pallets division through the acquisition of Pallet & Bin Pty Ltd, based in Shepparton, Victoria. Pallet & Bin manufactures a range of products for some of Australia\u2019s largest food producers, including a significant amount for the export markets.<\/p>\n
\u201cClients include five of Australia\u2019s largest food producers and this offers further diversity opportunities for our national pallet customer base,\u201d said Jim Bindon, Hyne Group CEO. \u201cShepparton is also strategically located between Hyne Timber\u2019s Tumbarumba sawmill and key Melbourne metropolitan markets, offering some solid locational synergies for both raw material timber supply and freight efficiencies.\u201d<\/p>\n

This week\u2019s announcement follows the Group\u2019s expansion in 2024 of its pallet manufacturing divisions through the acquisition of Rodpak Pallets & Packaging, Express Pallets & Crates and Pinetec Pty in Australia and HG Timber Ltd in the UK last year.
