<\/span>Clessidra Private Equity SGR has acquired Microtec, a provider of industrial scanning and optimization solutions, from Austrian firm GSS GmbH. The deal is part of Clessidra Capital Partners 4 and involves several co-investors, including Italmobiliare, ISA \u2013 Istituto Atesino di Sviluppo, Botzen Invest Euregio Finance, 035 Investimenti, BNP Paribas BNL Equity Investments, and Narval Investimenti.<\/p>\n

Founded in 1980 and headquartered in Brixen, Italy, Microtec develops hardware and software systems for quality control and process optimization in the wood and food industries. Its product portfolio includes technologies based on computerised tomography, machine vision, and artificial intelligence.<\/p>\n

The company employs about 450 people and has direct operations in Italy, North America, Sweden, Finland, and Germany. Annual revenues are around \u20ac100 million, with approximately 95% generated from exports. Customers include sawmills and processors across Europe, North America, and other regions.<\/p>\n

Federico Giudiceandrea, who founded Microtec and serves as chairman, will retain a stake in the company and continue to lead its R&D efforts. CEO Frank J\u00f6st and CSO Arianna Giudiceandrea will also remain in their current roles to ensure continuity.<\/p>\n
