<\/span>The Swedish wood industry company Setra reports an operating result of SEK -75 million (\u20ac6.5 million) for Q1 2025. Net sales amounted to SEK 1,536 million (\u20ac133.6 million), compared to SEK 1,158 million (\u20ac100.6 million) in Q1 2024.<\/p>\n

The first quarter of the year was characterised by continued rising raw material prices. Finished goods prices also increased, but not sufficiently to offset the higher cost of raw materials. A stronger Swedish krona meant that sales prices in foreign markets did not increase to the expected extent, despite price hikes in local currencies.<\/p>\n

During Q1, Setra decided to shift from continuous to periodic production of CLT and component products in L\u00e5ngshyttan. \u201cThe decision was made to ensure the company's long-term economic sustainability, and we will begin to see the positive effect in Q4 2025,\u201d said Marcus Westdahl, CEO and Group President of Setra Group.<\/p>\n

In 2024, Setra also launched an internal efficiency programme focused on reducing fixed costs. The company has already seen measurable effects in Q1, with further improvements expected throughout the year.<\/p>\n

Investment activities progressed according to plan during the quarter, including continuous production on the new saw line in Mal\u00e5 and the ongoing ramp-up of the small log line in Skinnskatteberg.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
