<\/span>Ten new company-specific collective agreements have been negotiated in the mechanical forest industry, the Finnish Industrial Federation reports. The agreement has been reached between the Finnish Industrial Federation, the Finnish Trade Union Pro and the following companies: Akonkosken Saha Oy, Iisveden Mets\u00e4 Oy, Kampin Saha Oy, Kuhmo Oy, Lapwall Oy, Late Rakenteet Oy, Pantsarin Saha Oy, Simons Element Oy, SWM Wood Oy and Tiaisen Saha Oy.<\/p>\n

The new contracts are for 1\u20133 years, some have an option year. The terms and conditions of the contracts are in line with the previous collective agreements in the mechanical forest industry. The salary increases follow the general line. The contracts cover both employees and salaried employees.<\/p>\n

The Finnish Industrial Federation has so far agreed collective agreements with over 70 companies. The agreement round has reached its final stages and negotiations will continue with another 15 companies during the spring.<\/p>\n

No progress at UPM Plywood<\/strong><\/p>\n

However, negotiations with UPM Plywood are not progressing. Last Friday, the Finnish Industrial Federation issued its sixth strike warning for the forestry giant's plywood production.<\/p>\n

Collective agreement negotiations with the company have continued without results since spring 2024. Attempts have also been made to find a solution under the leadership of the national mediator, but without success.<\/p>\n

According to the Finnish Industrial Confederation, the wage increases proposed by UPM fall far short of the wage increases already agreed in the contract sector, and do not meet the general industry policy.<\/p>\n

The board of the Finnish Industrial Confederation does not accept a situation where a leading company in its own industry offers its employees weaker working conditions than other industries.
