Especially in the industrial sector, the US tariff threats are further exacerbating the already tense situation. An improvement is not yet in sight. In the construction industry, however, the trough is likely to have been reached. Due to easing lending restrictions and lower interest rates, construction investments are expected to rise.<\/span><span id=\"more-37698\"><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">The Austrian sawmill industry's locations vary in their stocks of softwood logs. Storage capacities are partially utilized, especially in the south. However, this has not dampened demand, as mills outside of affected areas have increased their purchasing radius. Delivered quantities are generally transported quickly. However, regional delays can occur due to thaw closures and a lack of transport capacity. Prices are stable, with slight increases observed in Salzburg and Tyrol. Demand for larch remains very strong, with stable prices. Pine is also in demand, with stable prices.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">On the hardwood log market, good qualities of ash and oak continue to be in strong demand, while a decline in demand for poorer qualities can be observed.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">The paper, pulp, and board industries are very well stocked with softwood industrial roundwood. Sales are possible with subdued demand. Transport and acceptance may be delayed, especially in the affected areas. Prices are largely stable, but in Salzburg they have already been reduced. Demand for red beech pulpwood is rather subdued, given stable prices and generally restrictive quotas.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">The energy wood market remains tight. Stockpiles are generally well-stocked, resulting in low demand. Marketing outside of long-term contracts is virtually impossible, especially for lower-quality wood.
