<\/span>Koskisen Corporation has agreed to acquire the business of Iisveden Mets\u00e4 Oy.<\/p>\n

Iisveden Mets\u00e4 is a limited liability company located in Suonenjoki, mainly owned by private individuals, and it produces approximately 140,000 cubic meters of spruce sawn timber per year. Iisveden Mets\u00e4 was founded by local forest owners in 1924.<\/p>\n

Koskisen says in a press release that the transaction includes a factory property located in Suonenjoki, along with machinery and equipment, as well as inventory.<\/p>\n

The debt-free purchase price of the business transaction is EUR 22.5 million. In addition, Koskisen will pay the seller an additional purchase price of a maximum of EUR 4 million if the conditions specified for the payment of the additional purchase price, mainly related to the sales prices of sawn timber, are met during the years 2025\u20132027.<\/p>\n

Iisveden Mets\u00e4's staff, approximately 50 people, will transfer to Koskinen as existing employees. The transferred business does not include the target company's receivables, cash or other financial assets or liabilities.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe acquisition of Iisvesi Mets\u00e4\u2019s business is a key part of Koskinen\u2019s sustainable growth strategy, according to which our goal is to increase the Group\u2019s turnover to EUR 500 million by the end of 2027 through organic and inorganic growth,\u201d says Jukka Pahta, CEO of Koskinen .<\/p>\n

Pahta sees several synergy benefits in the business transaction. According to him, Iisveden Mets\u00e4 is a strong and significant local player, whose customer relationships and target markets optimally complement Koskisen's customer relationships and markets.<\/p>\n

Both companies focus on higher quality and price markets, for example in Japan and Italy. In the future, the goal is to efficiently procure wood raw material for the sawmilling business, but also birch for the needs of Koskisen's panel industry.<\/p>\n

The transaction is subject to approval by the Finnish and Estonian competition authorities and the general meeting of Iisvesen Mets\u00e4, as well as the fulfillment of certain other customary closing conditions.
