<\/span>Timber trading company\u00a0ACA Timber\u00a0acquires 100% of the shares of forestry and timber trading company\u00a0Mets\u00e4 Forest Latvia\u00a0from Mets\u00e4 Group's parent company Mets\u00e4liitto Cooperative.<\/p>\n

The transaction, which is subject to approval by the Competition Council, is expected to close in the second quarter of 2025. Both parties have agreed to keep the terms of the transaction confidential. Mets\u00e4 Forest Latvia, which will soon be renamed ACA Forest, is a cohesive, disciplined and well-organized team of 34 employees with decades of experience and connections to the Latvian forestry industry, provided by the company\u2019s own logging operations, and will be led by the company\u2019s current and long-standing CEO Juris Anto\u0146\u0113vi\u010ds.<\/p>\n

Sees the long-term perspective<\/strong><\/p>\n

The newly formed company will complement ACA\u2019s current operations as an independent forest industry partner in the timber industry in the Baltic and Northern European markets with significant know-how and a significant scope of work. For Armand Apfelbaum, CEO of ACA Timber, and his partners in Sweden and Germany, this acquisition will strengthen their operations in the Baltic region, as well as in the rest of Northern Europe: \u201cBy hiring 34 new colleagues and expanding our access to forests and Baltic ports, all our customers will benefit from long-term procurement security.\u201d<\/p>\n

ACA Timber is a Latvian\/Swedish\/German corporation owned by Armands Apfelbaum (Latvia), Virke Impex AB (Sweden) and Claus Rodenberg Waldkontor Gmbh (Germany). The partners, who have been working on joint projects for almost 40 years, have full confidence in the newly acquired company, the new colleagues and the long-term success of ACA Timber\/ACA Forest.<\/p>\n

Long-term supplies<\/strong><\/p>\n

Juha Jumppanen, Vice President of Mets\u00e4 Forest, emphasized that the sale of Mets\u00e4 Forest Latvia comes a year after a similar process in Estonia and is in line with Mets\u00e4 Group's strategy to promote the flexibility of its international supply chain.
