<\/span>Kronospan has acquired the ZG Timber factory in Sebe\u0219 from Ziegler Group. The acquisition ensures the continuation of operations at the Sebe\u0219 facility, preserving 500 local jobs following the insolvency of Ziegler Holding GmbH at the end of 2024.<\/p>\n

The acquisition agreement was signed on March 1, 2025, with the transaction expected to be completed by mid-year, pending regulatory approvals.<\/p>\n

Kronospan has committed to maintaining operations at the Ziegler factory while securing jobs, the company assured.<\/p>\n

As part of its strategy to enhance its product offerings, Kronospan will now incorporate sawn timber products into its global portfolio.<\/p>\n

In addition, the sawn timber products will complement the company\u2019s existing production of wood-based panels, including particleboard (PB), medium-density fiberboard (MDF), and oriented strand board (OSB) at its Romanian factories in Sebe\u0219 and Bra\u0219ov.<\/p>\n

\"Kronospan also plans to invest in modernizing the Sebe\u0219 sawmill to further improve its production capabilities,\" Kronospan representatives stated.<\/p>\n

It is worth recalling that Ziegler filed for insolvency three months ago. The company owns the former HS Timber factory in Sebe\u0219, previously known as Holzindustrie Schweighofer.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
