<\/span>Profura Development has reached an agreement to reacquire Green Wood Sverige AB, including its subsidiaries Balungstrands S\u00e5gverk and B\u00e4ckebrons S\u00e5gverk. The acquisition, which is pending approval from the Swedish Competition Authority, marks Profura\u2019s return to the Swedish sawmills it sold to Ziegler Group in 2022.<\/p>\n

When Profura initially sold Green Wood Sverige, the deal was part of an expansion strategy by the German Ziegler Group, which sought to strengthen its position in the Scandinavian market. However, following Ziegler's insolvency in 2024, the sawmills are now returning to their former owner.<\/p>\n

Green Wood Sverige\u2019s sawmills have a combined annual processing capacity of approximately 700,000 cubic meters of logs, operating on more than 35 hectares of industrial space. Profura has not disclosed specific plans for the facilities but is expected to focus on stabilizing operations after Ziegler\u2019s financial difficulties.<\/p>\n
