The total harvest volume reached 11.85 million cubic meters. On average, forest owners received 676 NOK (58 EUR) per cubic meter<span id=\"more-37482\"><\/span>, an increase of 24 percent compared to 2023.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"347\" data-end=\"532\">Measured in nominal prices, this is the highest average log price ever recorded in Norway. When adjusted for inflation, one has to go back 30 years to find a comparable average price.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"534\" data-end=\"752\">The total harvest volume of industrial wood increased by 8 percent compared to 2023. The largest percentage increase was in pine logs, with 17 percent more sawlogs and 21 percent more pulpwood harvested than in 2023.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"754\" data-end=\"805\"><strong>Both sawlogs and pulpwood have risen in price<\/strong><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"807\" data-end=\"1136\">Compared to 2023, the average log price was 24 percent higher in 2024. The percentage price increase was around 24 percent for spruce and pine sawlogs, as well as spruce pulpwood, while the price of pine pulpwood rose by 30 percent. On average, Norwegian forest owners achieved the following prices for key assortments in 2024:<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"1138\" data-end=\"1303\">\n<li data-start=\"1138\" data-end=\"1179\"><strong data-start=\"1140\" data-end=\"1160\">Sawlogs, spruce:<\/strong> 800 NOK (69 EUR)<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1180\" data-end=\"1219\"><strong data-start=\"1182\" data-end=\"1200\">Sawlogs, pine:<\/strong> 760 NOK (66 EUR)<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1220\" data-end=\"1262\"><strong data-start=\"1222\" data-end=\"1243\">Pulpwood, spruce:<\/strong> 524 NOK (45 EUR)<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1263\" data-end=\"1303\"><strong data-start=\"1265\" data-end=\"1284\">Pulpwood, pine:<\/strong> 498 NOK (43 EUR)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"1305\" data-end=\"1343\"><strong>39 percent of logs were exported<\/strong><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1345\" data-end=\"1733\">Increased demand and reduced timber availability in Europe have significantly contributed to rising exports in recent years. A total of 4.6 million cubic meters of Norwegian timber was exported in 2024, the highest recorded export volume and an increase of 7 percent compared to 2023. In total, 2.2 million cubic meters of sawlogs and 2.3 million cubic meters of pulpwood were exported.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1735\" data-end=\"1761\"><strong>Highest prices in Q4<\/strong><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1763\" data-end=\"2238\" data-is-last-node=\"\" data-is-only-node=\"\">On average, Norwegian forest owners received 755 NOK (65 EUR) per cubic meter for industrial wood sold in Q4, the highest nominal price recorded and an increase of 31 percent compared to Q4 2023. Both sawlogs and pulpwood saw approximately the same percentage price increase during this period. The average spruce sawlog price reached 901 NOK (78 EUR) per cubic meter in Q4 2024.
