The Finnish Industries Federation is still negotiating collective agreements for the mechanical forest industry with about twenty companies.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Finnish Industrial Federation has announced a new strike in the UPM plywood industry (UPM Plywood). The strike would start on March 10 and end on Sunday of the same week. The strike will affect four UPM Plywood units in Finland, affecting approximately 1,000 employees.<\/p>\n

The labor dispute concerns a company-specific collective agreement that the Finnish Industrial Federation is negotiating with UPM Plywood. The Finnish Industrial Federation has previously issued a strike warning for the previous week.<\/p>\n

Instead, a negotiated solution has already been reached with UPM's sawmill business.<\/p>\n

The Finnish Industrial Federation had previously also threatened the sawmill company P\u00f6lkky with a strike. The strike was scheduled to start next Monday. However, it will be canceled because the Finnish Industrial Federation has accepted the negotiation result given by mediator Jukka Ahti as the company-specific collective agreement for P\u00f6lkky Oy.<\/p>\n

The ban on overtime and shift changes imposed on P\u00f6lky are also no longer in force.<\/p>\n

Corporate agreements with 13 companies already<\/strong><\/p>\n

During the first half of the year, the Finnish Industries Federation has already negotiated company-specific agreements with several mechanical forest industry companies and the Trade Union Pro. In addition to P\u00f6lky, agreements have been reached with ER-Saha Oy, Iisalmen Sahat Oy, Jukajan Ristikko Oy, Kiurutimber Oy, Koskisen Oyj, Lunawood Oy, Pyh\u00e4nn\u00e4n Puunjalostus Oy, Sepa Oy, Tarkkala Tehdaspalvelut Oy, Veljekset Vaara Oy, Veljekset Kuusisto Oy and Versowood.<\/p>\n
